"Ride Like The Wind" is getting a great revival as Robin Thicke and Will Ferrell adjust the iconic track to fit with Ron Burgundy's character. Thicke tackles the vocals while Ferrell interjects Burgundy's trademark commentary and reworks Michael McDonald's backing vocals. In addition, Ferrell adds a flute solo, preceded by the intro "Let me hit you with this." Cross says, "I love the modern touches Thicke has added and am excited that "Ride Like The Wind" is being introduced to new audiences." Listen to the track here.
Cross is currently putting the finishing touches on a new studio release, GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY out in Spring 2014. The release will feature twelve new songs, with accomplished musicians such as Grammy-winning guitarist Eric Johnson, bassist Will Lee (Letterman/CBS Orchestra), and drummer Keith Carlock (Sting, Steely Dan). Additional guests and details will be announced shortly on Cross' Facebook page, Facebook.com/ChristopherCrossOfficial.
Multiplatinum recording artist Christopher Cross is best known for his self-titled debut album from 1980 that garnered him 5 Grammy Awards. He is the only artist in history to receive all of the "Big Four" Grammy Awards (Best Record, Song, Album, and New Artist) in the same year. Hits from this album included the #1 single "Sailing," "Ride Like the Wind" and "Never Be the Same." He is also well known for composing another #1 hit, "Arthur's Theme" (with Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager) from the Dudley Moore film Arthur, which won the Academy Award for Best Song in 1981 (with co-composers Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Peter Allen).
