The Growth Strategy Company Captures Seven Telly Awards
Company's "Growth is Human" short film broadly recognized in Film/Video categories for chronicling the strategic, social and economic factors related to business growth
WASHINGTON, July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Growth Strategy Company, the leading provider of cloud-based software, research insights and advisory services dedicated to business growth, today announced its short film entitled, "Growth is Human" was named a winner in seven Film/Video categories of the 34th Annual Telly Awards. The film chronicles the rise and fall of a Philadelphia area textile factory, Global Dye Works, and provides a fresh perspective of the complex strategic, social and economic factors related to business growth, failure, and the potential for renewal. Stories similar to Global Dye Works are being repeated in every American town and city.
A panel of over 500 industry professionals judged the Telly Awards, with winners representing the best work of the top creative agencies in the world. This year, over 13,000 applications were submitted from all 50 states and five continents, making it one of the most competitive years to date.
"It's an honor to be recognized for 'Growth is Human' as it presents a model example for why struggling industries and companies need to innovate and take preemptive actions to achieve and sustain business growth," said Wayne Simmons, co-founder and CEO, The Growth Strategy Company. "Business growth is consistently the number one issue facing executives and companies, yet there is no common language for how growth is actually achieved. This film helps frame the discussion and sets the urgency for companies to take a fresh look at the discipline of growth strategy."
"The film focuses attention on the broader 'human story' at the intersection of social impact, economic policy and business," said Keary Crawford, co-founder and COO, The Growth Strategy Company. "It captures the community and human impact that relates to globalization, global competition and strategy by posing two questions: 'Can business growth and renewal be more inevitable than decline and failure?' and 'How can the fate of Global Dye Works be avoided?'"
"Growth is Human," produced by The Growth Strategy Company and co-produced by Innovation Excellence and Innovation Enterprise Ltd., earned two prestigious Silver Awards in the Direct Marketing and Miscellaneous Film categories. The film also received five Bronze Awards in the Social Issues, Promotional Piece, Corporate Training, Social Responsibility and Cause Marketing categories.
The film serves as a catalyst for Growth Thinking: Building the New Growth Enterprise, a book authored by Simmons and Crawford that helps large and mature companies adopt growth-focused characteristics and behaviors typified in Silicon Valley startups. The book and short film served the company as a platform for creating GrowthCloud®, the first-to-market enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform purpose-built to help companies grow through an information advantage.
"The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video," said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. "The Growth Strategy Company's accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production."
