Stronger Than The Storm Is Set To Soundoff With A Competition To Decide The Summer Anthem
A call to all New Jersey musical talent to write and record an original song that represents the strength of the Garden State
TRENTON, N.J., July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Stronger than the Storm, a comprehensive consumer campaign developed to bring awareness to the Jersey Shore's recovery, presents the Jersey Shore Soundoff--a statewide music contest for local musicians to write and record an original song that could become New Jersey's summer anthem. This is the ultimate chance for aspiring musicians to showcase their talents while enjoying the summer sun.
Starting on July 22, contestants can register online and begin submitting videos to summersoundoff.strongerthanthestorm.com. The contest will consist of three phases that will narrow down the competition to the grand prize winner. During phase one of the competition, July 22 - August 11, consumers are allowed to vote once per day. Phase two, August 12 - 18, a celebrity panel of judges and public vote will determine three finalists. During the final stage, August 19 - 25, one vote per day will be accepted, with the winner announced on September 4.
With almost half the vote in the hands of the public, this is the perfect time for New Jerseyans to demonstrate their pride, support and love for their favorite musician or band. But, that's not all...the grand prize invites the winner to perform at the Stronger than the Storm Soundoff September 7, before crowds of fans while rocking alongside a notable act.
"The Stronger than the Storm campaign already has a song, but we really wanted to give the people a chance to create an anthem that was special to them, something that embodied the spirit of New Jersey," said Shannon Eis, spokesperson from Stronger than the Storm. "This state has a deep and rich history of great artists like Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Frank Sinatra and Whitney Houston, so I'm excited to hear the best our state has to offer."
New Jersey's talented artists should begin preparing as the contest is set to open July 22. In a music competition fit to rival The Voice and American Idol, the finest artists are expected to take Jersey for a melodic ride that will go down in history. So, tune the guitars, dust off the drum sets, and set up the microphones because New Jersey is ready to rock!
