Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Neil Diamond Debuts Tribute Song Inspired by Boston Marathon Bombing on PBS' A CAPITOL FOURTH







WASHINGTON, June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing, Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winning musician and songwriter Neil Diamond became an inspirational figure in the city's recovery efforts. Diamond, who was moved to write about the incomprehensible tragedy that rocked the city on April 15, 2013, will be nationally debuting "Freedom Song (They'll Never Take Us Down)," on the 33(rd) annual broadcast of A CAPITOL FOURTH airing on PBS Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET. 100% of the proceeds from the song sales will benefit One Fund Boston and the Wounded Warrior Project. America's National Independence Day celebration is broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol before a concert audience of hundreds of thousands, millions more at home, as well as to our troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network. The program can also be heard live in stereo over NPR member stations nationwide.
