Hiring Our Heroes(TM) Comes to The Cable Show 2013
Career Fair Designed to Connect Veterans, Reservists and Military Spouses with Cable Industry Jobs
WASHINGTON, June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to educate skilled veterans, reservists and military spouses about the U.S. cable industry and connect them with companies that are seeking workers, dozens of companies will be participating in a job fair hosted this June at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's (NCTA) annual convention, The Cable Show 2013.
Cable operators and programming networks as well as technology and software companies will be conducting on-site interviews and testing for nationwide jobs. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to attend career guidance workshops aimed at improving important skills, such as resume writing and interviewing.
The Hiring Our Heroes( )job fair will be held on June 11, 2013, during The Cable Show 2013, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. This hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation in partnership with NCTA, the Cable & Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) and other local and industry partners. Veterans, guardsmen and reservists are invited to attend this job fair. Pre-registration is recommended, however walk-in job seekers are welcome but may not be guaranteed on-site interviews. Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Since March 2011, Hiring Our Heroes has hosted more than 400 hiring fairs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia; more than 14,100 veterans have been placed in jobs.
Participation by employers is by invitation only to member companies of the NCTA and CTHRA as well as to all exhibiting companies in The Cable Show 2013.
