From Small Town To Big Stage Singer Mary Millben Debuts In New York

Solo Concert to be held June 27 at The Cutting Room

NEW YORK, June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Presented by The Agency Group, Mary Millben will make her solo concert debut on June 27, 2013 at NYC's newest premier stage, The Cutting Room.

Millben, born and raised in Oklahoma and a daughter of ministers, grew up singing in church where she was known as a "Songbird" for her stunning vocal range. Thanks to the faith instilled by her determined, single mother, it was a matter of time before this preacher's child would go from the hills of the South to the stages of the world. She has been a featured soloist at the White House, the Kennedy Center, and on stages across Europe. In addition, Millben has been a featured soloist for events hosting President Barack Obama, President George W. Bush, Dr. Maya Angelou, and many others. In addition, Millben performed at the 43rd Super Bowl halftime show with Bruce Springsteen, and made her New York theatre debut in the Ray Roderick musical 'S Wonderful. Prior to entertainment, Millben served as a Presidential appointee to President George W. Bush and was recently named a Global Ambassador for Education Africa. Millben's NYC debut is under the music direction of Brandon Felder and she is joined by some of America's top musicians including Chris Parker (drums), Sherrod Barnes (guitar), Francisco Centeno (bass), Matt Perri (piano), and Skip Pruitt (saxophone). Background vocalists include Grammy Award winner Raymond Reeder, Victoria Purcell and Roz White. The concert will feature music by Shelton Becton and Bruce Aronson, and arrangements by Ken Lundie.

"I am thrilled to have my debut in one of the world's most vibrant cities. NYC has always been a cultural icon for my ambitions as a singer and performer. With this extremely talented band, we are excited to share music that is certain to uplift the soul," Millben says.
