OTTAWA, June 10, 2013 /CNW/ - Espial, a leader in on-demand TV software
and solutions, and Pace, a leading global developer of advanced
technologies for service providers, today announced that the two
companies will demonstrate an advanced Reference Design Kit (RDK)
set-top box (STB) experience at The Cable Show 2013, June 10-12, in
Washington, D.C. The demonstration will showcase the Espial RDK-based
user experience running on Pace's ultra-fast, high-performance IP STB
using the Espial STB Client. Key highlights of the RDK demonstration
will include an HTML5 user interface, video-on-demand storefront,
popular video applications, and social media integrations all wrapped
in a rich media experience.
"Partnering with one of the leading TV user experience vendors such as
Espial allows us to deliver the next-generation services that the
industry is seeking," said Ashley Glover, VP of Marketing at Pace. "At
The Cable Show, we'll demonstrate the advanced applications and rich
media experience that can be delivered via a combination of the Espial
STB Client and Pace IP set-top box."
The Espial STB Client is a high performance middleware, applications,
and toolset solution that optimizes the development and deployment of
compelling TV services on managed STB platforms. Leveraging recent
innovations and technological developments, including open Web
standards like HTML5 and CSS3 as well as RDK, the Espial STB Client
helps operators deliver an exceptional user experience at a faster
time-to-market and a significantly lower development cost.
Pace's IP client STB features industry-leading processing speeds and
advanced graphics acceleration. The STB integrates with home networks
via Ethernet or MoCA technologies and includes support for a variety of
video formats. The IP STB supports multiple software and content
security configurations.
"Utilizing the Espial STB Client on Pace's IP set-top box, cable
operators can easily and efficiently deliver blended Web and TV
services to customers," said Jaison Dolvane, President and CEO, Espial.
