As AMPAV Celebrates its 25th Anniversary, Sennheiser Facilitates Discussion on 'Sound in Film', While Extending Panel Content via Wireless Headphone Technology
CANNES, France, May 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Audio specialist Sennheiser was on hand during The American Pavilion's 25th Anniversary at the Cannes International Film Festival this month, facilitating discussions on the role of 'sound in film' with producers, directors, writers and other content creators. As The American Pavilion (AMPAV) hosted panels such as 'State of the Indie Film Industry,' 'American Directors in Cannes' and 'Music in Film,' with industry leaders, Sennheiser provided hundreds of wireless headphones to attendees so they could enjoy content throughout the entire Pavilion, which was completely redesigned for 2013.
The redesigned AMPAV space, which was outfitted to include a new conference center, bar, restaurant and a media terrace/green room in addition to the existing generously sized deck, was host to hundreds of filmmakers, directors, producers, writers and other attendees of The Cannes Film Festival, the most high profile event in the film industry. Sennheiser implemented a temporary, state of the art wireless system that delivered reliable and crisp audio for anyone to listen within the boundaries of the Pavilion.
Over the course of the 12-day event, Sennheiser also conducted one-on-one interviews with leading film professionals including Rosie Wong, industry office, Sundance Institute, Scilla Andreen, CEO and co-founder of IndieFlix, film composer Gingger Shankar and many others to discuss the importance of sound in film.
"It was a natural fit for Sennheiser to sponsor The American Pavilion at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, joining other top brands including American Express, The Peninsula Hotel, SodaStream and others," commented Stefanie Reichert, Strategic Marketing, Sennheiser. "In the world of filmmaking, Sennheiser is a brand that is well known, since our microphones, wireless systems and other equipment are used extensively during the filmmaking process. Our sponsorship of The American Pavilion allowed us to strengthen our presence within this influential and highly creative market."
In addition to providing the wireless headphone infrastructure, Sennheiser also had several of its new Momentum consumer headphones on hand so attendees could experience great sound. Former U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd, who is currently chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, was among those who gave an enthusiastic 'thumbs up' to the Momentum, while listening to the theme from "Star Wars".
"By providing attendees with Sennheiser wireless headphones this year, we were able to dramatically increase both the audio quality and overall reach of our seminars and panels," commented Julie Sisk, director and founder of The American Pavilion. "Since its founding 25 years ago, AMPAV has been a place where festival attendees can enjoy compelling and educational content, while relaxing and unwinding from their busy schedules in Cannes. As a sponsor of AMPAV this year, Sennheiser allowed us to take this concept one step further, providing great audio and removing content boundaries within the Pavilion."
