United States Basketball Champion Cup Launches Multi Million Dollar tournament Summer 2013

United States Basketball Champion Cup Launches Multi Million Dollar tournament Summer 2013

NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Basketball Champion Cup (USBCC) provides a way to "turn deferred, professional basketball aspirations into reality" according to Peter Anthony Andrews, USBCC Commissioner. "There are countless basketball warriors in every corner of the globe with talent and commitment to the game, but circumstances forced them to take a life path other than basketball. Here is their SECOND CHANCE. We are the 'American Idol' of Basketball. We will be presenting, to the American and Global TV audience, the National and International 'unknowns' who desperately seek their chance to make it on the professional stage."

Tryouts for the tournament begin February 2013 in 20 major cities across the United States. The games begin in mid-June and the championship game will be played on Labor Day in either Las Vegas or Atlantic City, NJ, where the $1,000,000 prize will be decided. "We believe that our $1,000,000 prize money will bring out the best in our players, thereby providing the fans with a high octane, fast paced, yet smothering defensive game that will be a joy to watch on hot summer nights," Andrews observed.

The National Champion Team wins $1,000,000 and the Team Owner wins $500,000. Minimum salary per player is $1000 per game. No current NBA players are allowed, however, NBA retirees welcome.

Andrews also enthusiastically points to another equally important element to the competition. "While crowning an American Champion we will have created several thousand jobs for all the players, staff and support systems that go into this enterprise of sports operations. We are coming out of a severe economic depression and the American spirit needs to be uplifted and we sincerely feel the USBCC can be a source of pride and inspiration for the entire nation."

The USBCC 51 teams, consisting of 510 players, will boast players from big cities, small towns, suburbs and rural areas throughout the entire United States. The games will be seen on local, regional and national TV broadcast and cable networks. Television agreements, as well as national radio and global internet streaming are in the final stages of negotiation.

The USBCC has been created to capture the hearts of the fans one state at a time and bring the game home as their state pursues the National Cup. In addition to the 50 State Teams, the Puerto Rico Team will also be available for sale January 24, 2013. Only qualified individuals and corporations are eligible. Contact USBCC Commissioner's office via the website to apply. Once approved, the USBCC will provide a complete, detailed, operational handbook on team management. Details for team acquisition will be made available on the USBCC website: http://www.usbasketballcup.com
