TORONTO, Jan. 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Fans have been waking up early and staying
up late to cheer on Team Canada at the World Juniors, as overnight data
from BBM Canada confirms that the 2013 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP in Ufa, Russia has recorded solid ratings for TSN and TSN2 during the
opening round of the tournament.



The average minute of Team Canada's decisive victory over Team Russia on
New Year's Eve was watched by 2.5 million viewers* over TSN's live and encore broadcasts - making it the most-watched round-robin game of this year's tournament.  Overall, 6.4 million Canadians watched some part of TSN and TSN2's coverage of
the Canada-Russia World Juniors game on New Year's Eve.



Throughout the opening round, TSN and TSN2 delivered live and encore
presentations of all of Team Canada's round-robin games. To date, more than 8.3 million Canadians have watched some part of Team Canada's round-robin action from the 2013 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP on TSN and TSN2.  The average minute of Team Canada's round-robin games were watched by 1.8
million viewers on TSN across live and repeat broadcasts.
