Gemini Nominated Actress Ramona Milano Stars in "A Christmas Song" to Premiere Nov. 3 on The Hallmark Channel

NEW YORK, Nov. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Canadian actress Ramona Milano stars in
the upcoming Hallmark movie of the week "A Christmas Song" which will
make its national premiere at 8 p.m. EST Saturday, Nov. 3, on The
Hallmark Channel.

Directed by Gemini nominated Timothy Bond, "A Christmas Song" is a
family film about two high school musical teachers who face losing
their jobs due to budget cuts, so they create a Christmas carol contest
in an effort to save the school's music program. An unlikely
relationship is berthed as a result.

"It's a love story," says Milano, "about a woman who has given up on the
notion of love. I think what people are really going to enjoy is the
relationships between teachers, kids, friends and couples."

Milano is known for her recurring role of Audra Torres on "Degrassi."
Milano played Francesca Vecchio on the hit CBS series "Due South" which
earned her two Gemini Award nominations.

Starring in "A Christmas Song" with Milano are Canadian actors Gabriel
Hogan, whose prior credits include the Primetime Emmy winning
television show "The Kennedys" and the Gemini Award winning show "The
Dating Guy," and Natasha Henstridge, known for "The Whole Nine Yards"
and "Species."

"We had a great time coming up with many ways and takes to deliver a
scene," said Milano. "I appreciated the humor in the script and within
the characters who seemed to choose self-deprecation over vanity. I
like the way they approached situations with natural ability and
humor."

Milano plays Jill in "A Christmas Song" opposite Henstridge, who plays
Amy. The two characters are close friends despite having contrary
viewpoints on romance.

Henstridge's character meets Ken, an improbable love interest, played by
Hogan. Amy has a chance to restore her faith in romance when Ken turns
out to be different than disingenuous suitors of before.

"It is entertaining and very soulful, heartfelt, sincere and funny,"
says Milano, who is currently wrapping season 12 on "Degrassi." Milano
was also selected from a Canada-wide search to act as the Rogers mom in
a Rogers Communications commercial campaign to promote one of the
nation's top communications services companies.
