The EDM Network to Become First Professional Electronic Dance Music Media Outlet

The EDM Network to Become First Professional Electronic Dance Music Media Outlet

DENVER, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A group of Electronic Dance Music industry veterans gathered this week to announce the launch of a game-changing institution in the EDM blogosphere.

Today, they proudly announce The EDM Network, the premiere professional electronic dance music (EDM) media outlet.

"It's the first of its kind," said Chief Executive Officer Jason Muir. "We are the first to acquire and put to use the resources necessary to adequately cover all relevant news."

The Network, a series of sites highlighting each genre as its own entity as well as a piece of EDM as a whole, is the result of a collaboration between key media outlets tailored to meet the demanding needs of a highly specialized and segmented market.

Muir, founder of the formerly standalone superblog Dubstep.net, explained that the goal of the network is market expansion.

"EDM is still just a very small, close community," Muir said. "Our goal with the network is to bring the sound of EDM to as many people as possible, and make it much more popular."

The EDM Network is being touted as a collaborative tool.

"We are on the side of everyone that has an interest in the EDM industry," said Chief Operating Officer Ethan Baer.

"Our network makes it possible for everyone in the industry to receive professional, high-quality coverage of their music and events," he said. "It's been a huge project, but finally all the pieces are in place."

The EDM Network has committed to filling their top positions with experienced and dedicated personnel.

"You want people who have an intricate knowledge of the industry and the talent for the position," Muir said. "Naturally, that combination is difficult to find."

Their first publically announced hire is that of Editor-in-Chief: Albert Berdellans, formerly of EDMsnob.com.

"We believe that Albert is exactly the right person to fill this important role at our company," Baer said. "We're excited about what he brings to our team."

Berdellans said the offer came to him at the right time.

"I'm thrilled to be joining The EDM Network team," he said. "Ethan and Jason approached me with the opportunity just as I was wrapping up my previous project, and the opportunity to be a leader in this venture was very exciting."

The former blogger added he is hopeful about the Network's future, and he plans to make every effort to ensure its success.

"With the combination of the resources at our disposal and the experience of our team members, our outlet is going to do great things for EDM," Berdellans said.

The network's flagship website, Dubstep.net, already receives approximately one million clicks per week. It is expected to swell even further with its newly revised design, introduced today.

The network will continue to introduce new sites until the end of 2012, including House.net, TranceMusic.net, Electro.net and several others.
