Starz Entertainment Promotes James Porter And Jodi Robinson In Technology And IT Group

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Oct. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Starz Entertainment Senior Vice President Programming & IT Development, Ray Milius, announced the promotions of James Porter to the newly created positions of Senior Vice President Media System & IT Development, and Jodi Robinson to Vice President Internet & Interactive Technology.

Porter is a long-time executive at the company and manages all activities for broadcast and infrastructural operations for the channels and advanced services, in addition to the IT group.

Robinson and her group lead technology strategy and development for the company, including advanced services and interactive television. Robinson's team spearheaded the development of the recently launched STARZ PLAY and ENCORE PLAY authenticated platforms and applications.

Most recently VP, Media Systems & IT Development, Porter has risen through the ranks of the company since joining as an editor in 1994. He was first promoted to director of post-production, and then executive director, post production and broadcast operations. Prior to joining Starz Entertainment, Porter worked for National Video Industries (NVI) in New York and was an engineering maintenance technician for 3M.

Robinson joined Starz Entertainment in 2006 as Director of Engineering within the Advanced Services division and was a key executive on the Vongo technology development team. Prior to joining the company, Robinson was a Software Architect at Level 3 Communications where she was responsible for key platform initiatives within the Technology organization. Robinson is a graduate of Stanford University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
