"Live While We're Young" Is No. 1 On Both The Digital Tracks And Song Charts

NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- One Direction have made US chart history again today by achieving the highest selling first week single sales by a UK artist with "Live While We're Young." The lead single from the band's upcoming album TAKE ME HOME entered the Billboard Digital Track and Song Charts at #1 with over 341k sold in its first week making it the biggest opening week sales for a single by a non-US artist ever.

Upon release, the music video for "Live While We're Young" was the most viewed video in 24 hours ever on VEVO with over 8.2 Million views and has since garnered over 52 Million views.

This has been an incredible year for One Direction as earlier this year they made US history as the first UK artist to have their debut album enter the charts at #1 on the US Billboard Albums chart. UP ALL NIGHT is currently the top selling debut album of 2012. One Direction have received three American Music Award nominations for New Artist Of The Year, Favorite Album and Favorite Band. These nominations add to the astonishing 3 MTV Video Music Award and 2 Teen Choice Award wins.
