ABC REFUSES TO AIR AD FOR DVD DURING DEBATE; APPLE'S ITUNES DENIES PLACEMENT ON FRONT PAGE

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The blockbuster hit film "2016: Obama's America," which grossed more than $33 million at the box office is currently the #4 DVD in the United States, according to Nielsen VideoScan in spite of continued efforts on the part of the mainstream media to block its path.

Thomas K. Arnold of The Hollywood Reporter writes, "Making a surprisingly strong showing was the political documentary 2016: Obama's America, which despite a DVD-only release and a limited theatrical run debuted at No. 4 on the overall disc chart, two spots ahead of Moonrise Kingdom....which starred Bruce Willis." The film came in just behind The Avengers, one of the summer's biggest blockbusters.

Despite its success, the film encountered several curious roadblocks that producers viewed as blatant attempts to keep the film from the general public. ABC refused to sell advertising for the film during the recent presidential debates due to "political content" and Apple's iTunes has consistently failed to list 2016: Obama's America on its homepage under its "new and notables" section even though it has ranked as high as #7 of all movies sold on iTunes.

"I'm not surprised at all by these developments," said producer Gerald Molen whose credits include Hook, Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. "To say that #2 biggest political documentary in history isn't 'new and notable' is laughable. The mainstream media is horrified that we've succeeded without their blessing. We continue to wear their attempts to blacklist us as a badge of honor and are thrilled that the film is serving as a source of information for concerned Americans. There has been a tremendous outpouring of groups, churches and colleges that have a desire to see this film."
