NADCON Constantin Film Launches New Subsidiary with Producer Peter Nadermann
MUNICH, September 6, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
Constantin Film AG is stepping up its international production efforts. On 1st October
2012 it is teaming up with Peter Nadermann to launch the company NADCON. In collaboration
with foreign partners, the unit will co-produce quality films and television programming,
including event productions, serial TV programs and series.
The launch of NADCON will, above all, broaden Constantin Film AG's international
production base, while strengthening its position as a provider of programming content for
German television broadcasters. To date, alongside its domestic production and
exploitation businesses, the main push of the company's efforts has been in international
feature films and television entertainment.
Martin Moszkowicz, head of Film and Television at Constantin Film, states: "As one of
the most distinguished creators of television programming in Germany, Peter Nadermann
brings to Constantin Film a unique combination of production experience and international
contacts. NADCON is a natural fit for our growth strategy."
Peter Nadermann adds: "The market for internationally-produced quality TV series and
feature films has never been as exciting as it is today. Fiction that is ambitious in its
presentation and content will play a major role, even in a modern media world. It offers
one of the few opportunities to continue to economically produce high production values. I
look forward to opening some more new doors!"
Peter Nadermann began his career in 1985, as a commissioning editor for the "Kleines
Fernsehspiel" slot of ZDF German Television Network. During this tenure, in addition to
numerous international coproductions, he developed the first interactive TV drama,
"Mörderische Entscheidung - Umschalten erwünscht" (ARD / ZDF, 1991). From 1993 to 1999,
during his term as a professor at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), he founded the
media schools Schreibschule and Filmschule NRW. Since 1999, Peter Nadermann produced and
co-produced numerous feature films, TV movies and series, for the ZDF subsidiaries Network
Movie and ZDF Enterprises. His major achievements include bringing Scandinavian crime
thrillers, such as the various Henning Mankell, Inspector Beck and Inspector Lund dramas,
as well as Die Brücke (The Bridge) and Nordlicht (Those Who Kill), to the television
screen, and Adams aebler (Adam's Apples), Snabba cash (Easy Money) and Stieg Larsson's
"Millennium" trilogy to the cinema.
