venues at the Great Park. Each venue is set under the night flights of the
brilliantly lit Great Park Balloon and provides a visually stunning setting for
the Festival. Five Festival performances will take place in the Palm Court Arts
Complex -a unique outdoor club setting where guests can mix an mingle under 54
illuminated Canary Island Palm Trees, four performances will take place on the
checkerboard dance floor of the Dance Concourse (with dance instruction for the
public in evenings of live salsa, Bollywood, ballroom and blues), and four
performances will take place at the Runway Stage -large concert venue with
concert seating and lawns for blankets and chairs.
INFO:
The Great Park, with its approximately 1,300-acre master plan, is the
centerpiece of the redevelopment of the publicly-owned portion of the 4,700-
acre former Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro. In many ways, the growth and
success of this Festival parallels the growth of the Great Park and an
interesting story can be told comparing the two. Last year, 20,000 people
attended the Festival. This year, the Great Park expects 25,000-30,000. The
Great Park has grown to more than 200 acres and will add 30 more acres of active
park space by the end of 2013.
