Inspirational Videos from Deidox: Individuals Find Faith, Pastors Create Sermons
AUSTIN, Texas, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Deidox announces a new series of short documentary films exploring the faith of everyday people.
"We are on a journey to find practical examples of what it looks like to live a life of faith," said Dave Mahanes, producer and co-owner of Deidox.com. "Ultimately, we hope to produce dozens of stories demonstrating how God is working in countries all over the globe. We want to challenge and inspire people."
Deidox wants to set the standard on the quality of inspirational Christian video resources shown in churches. Deidox also wants to help pastors write powerful sermons.
"All too often, church videos are pretty bad and people are okay with that. We want the art to be excellent. Our videos are great sermon illustrations that are better than you expect Christian filmmakers to produce. We are trying to elevate the art and support the artists who create it. We hire professionals to create a new kind of sermon resource. We hope that shows through our work. We are setting the standard. We want to raise the bar in terms of production quality, as well as story content," he said.
"We also want to make the sermon video resources affordable for church leaders, pastors, churches, and individuals. A lifetime access for an unlimited number of videos is only $35 for individuals and $150 for churches or other groups or organizations."
Deidox provides high-resolution digital downloads in HD and SD for use by churches, small groups, youth groups, schools, college chapels, and non-profit organizations. They also provide a low-resolution version of each short film for use by individuals so they can watch Christian videos on their computers, iPods, iPhones or other personal media devices.
"We are also looking to provide content for media outlets looking for content, such as traditional media and online bloggers," he said.
"This is different than testimonials like, 'I was crazy drunk. I met God. Now I am better,'" he said. "Our inspiring sermon illustrations validate their faith. We show what it looks like to live out faith on a daily basis."
To get that level of honesty, the film crews travel with the individuals.
"We want to learn from them. We follow them around with cameras. We ask them questions. We try to develop stories based on what is going on in their lives," he said.
The Christian video clips are based on vocation, such as living my faith at work; at home, such as loving my neighbor; and international, such as people overcoming political oppression from religion.
The videos will help people answer such questions as:
-- How do I live out my Christian faith?
-- How can I live out my Christian faith at work?
-- Does our work matter to God?
-- How can I be used by God?
-- How can I serve God?
-- What is my purpose in life?
-- What does it mean to be a Christian?
-- How can I show love to my neighbor?
The inspirational videos tell stories of such time-honored themes like:
-- Alyssa - A blind teenager shows us what it means to live life by faith.
-- Li Yang - A personal story of risking one's life for the Gospel.
-- Kimberly - The story of how one woman integrates faith into work.
-- Robert - A small town doctor struggles with the consequences of being
obedient to God.
-- Lindsay - A young teacher finds her purpose and demonstrates
unconditional love.
