Craneway Pavilion's "Rosie's Shipyard Ale" Debuts At The San Francisco Giants' Annual Brewfest
RICHMOND, Calif., July 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Craneway Pavilion's new brew, Rosie's Shipyard Ale, will be making its debut appearance at the third annual Giants Annual Brewfest from 3pm-6pm on July 14th. The Brewfest, held at Seal's Plaza, celebrates the perfect marriage of America's finest creations: good beer and baseball. The event will be celebrated with beer tasting, delicious eats, and live entertainment.
"We are thrilled to participate in the Giants Annual Brewfest along with the finest Northern California brewers. Our beer is brewed specifically for the Craneway's Boilerhouse Restaurant by Drake's Brewing in San Leandro. We launched it last October and we've gotten very positive feedback. People really seem to enjoy it," says Craneway Pavilion's General Manager, Lance Miller.
Rosie's Shipyard Ale is a "house craft beer" - a basic Pale Ale with a crisp taste and a dry finish. It is mildly hoppy, more so on the nose than the palate. It has a malt bill composed of American 2-Row, Caramalt and Crystal 45L. Drake's used Magnum hops for bittering, while Styrian Golgings and Cascade hops were brought in to enhance the aromatic character.
The brew was named in honor of "Rosie the Riveter", the iconic WW II figure that has come to represent the strength and determination of women everywhere striving for equality in all walks of life. Rosie the Riveter emerged as an iconic cultural symbol of the American women who rolled up their sleeves to support the war effort. Many of these pioneering "Rosies" toiled in the historic Ford Assembly Building, the site of the new interactive Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front NHP Visitor Education Center as well as the world-class event and production facility Craneway Pavilion. Rosie the Riveter has since come to represent the strength and determination of women everywhere striving for equality in all walks of life.
Come enjoy great beer, food and music and watch the Giants take on the Houston Astros!
