RLTV Receives Emmy® For Outstanding Documentary For "To Not Fade Away"

BALTIMORE, June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- RLTV,the only cable network that provides viewers with information and entertainment to help Redefine Life after 50, received an Emmy® Award from the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for To Not Fade Away, its 60-minute documentary about early onset Alzheimer's disease. Elliot Jacobson, Senior VP Programming and Production, RLTV, and one of the documentary's executive producers, accepted the award at the regional Emmy® Awards at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

"We are so honored to have been recognized for our documentary, To Not Fade Away," said Elliot Jacobson. "The Alzheimer's Association states that one in eight older Americans has the disease. These are significant numbers, especially when you consider the impact on whole families. The film speaks to the real-life challenges of those diagnosed with the disease as well as the friends and family members who care for them, but it also reveals the groundbreaking work being done by research institutions to find a cure."

To Not Fade Away, sequel to RLTV's Emmy® Award-winning original film Not Fade Away, illustrates the effects of early onset Alzheimer's from the patient's perspective. Narrated by Lea Thompson and created in partnership with Blanchette Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (BRNI), To Not Fade Away continues the story of Marie Vitale, her decline due to the disease over a five-year period and the challenges that impact both her and her family. The documentary also features the inspiring stories of well-known Americans who have been affected by Alzheimer's, including University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers head coach Pat Summitt and country music icon Glen Campbell.

In addition, To Not Fade Away explores the hopeful advances being made in early detection and the search for a cure at Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute, Johns Hopkins University, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and National Institutes of Health.

To Not Fade Away was Executive Produced by David Wasser and Elliot Jacobson. To find out where you can see RLTV in your area and watch clips from To Not Fade Away, visit the RLTV website at www.rl.tv.
