Holstein Park 100 Year Anniversary Celebration!

Holstein Park 100 Year Anniversary Celebration!

CHICAGO, June 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- It's time to celebrate a major milestone of one of Chicago's historic parks. Today the Friends of Holstein Park announce the Holstein 100 Year Anniversary Celebration to be held on June 30, 2012 from 11am to 7pm.

This terrific summer event will feature 14 of Chicago's finest food trucks, a selection of Goose Island Beer Company's tasty summer beers, and many great live bands throughout the day. The festivities will be held on the park grounds adjacent to the historic field-house as well as the surrounding streets. There will be many activities for the younger park fans in our dedicated children's play space.

The entire event is a fundraiser for the ambitious rehabilitation plan of the historic Holstein Park fieldhouse that is celebrating 100 years of continuous service to the community. "We are looking forward to having a great day at the park with the historic park field-house as a backdrop, while raising awareness and much-needed funds for this fantastic community resource," said Alderman Scott Waguespack, whose 32nd Ward includes Holstein Park.

This event is presented by Time Out Chicago and sponsored in part by Friends of Holstein Park, Alderman Scott Waguespack, Goose Island Beer Company, American Eagle Bank, Printwell, Siragusa Group, Cat and Mouse and the Chicago Park District.

The event is expected to draw close to 5,000 Chicagoans eager to relax in the park, eat a wide variety of foods from 14 different savory and sweet food trucks, enjoy cold Goose Island Beer Company beer and soft drinks, and hear some great local music from our central stage in the park.

Volunteers are welcome to help on the day of the event - email us at holsteinpark100@gmail.com for further information on how you can help!
