LOS ANGELES, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Annenberg Space for Photography's upcoming exhibition, Who Shot Rock & Roll, is the first major museum exhibit on rock and roll to spotlight the creative and collaborative role that photographers played in rock music's history.

THE EXHIBIT (Open June 23 through October 7, 2012)
Organized by the Brooklyn Museum with guest curator and author Gail Buckland, Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present features 166 prints from over 100 photographers.

EXHIBIT FILM PRESENTATIONS
An original short documentary film produced exclusively for the Annenberg Space for Photography by Arclight Productions will be shown in 4K resolution. The film presents new photographs, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage with exhibit photographers Edward Colver, Henry Diltz, Jill Furmanovsky, Lynn Goldsmith, Bob Gruen, Norman Seeff, Mark Seliger and Guy Webster and appearances by music notables such as Alice Cooper, Noel Gallagher and Henry Rollins.

A slideshow of 80 images by Henry Diltz taken between 1966-1990 is also featured. Woven into the exhibit are music videos by Sonic Youth, U2,Grace Jones, Bjork and Elvis.

IRIS NIGHTS LECTURE SERIES
Visitors hear first-hand from photographers and notables featured in the Who Shot Rock and Roll exhibit such as Henry Rollins, Guy Webster, Bob Gruen and more. Free with advance registration. Thursdays beginning June 28. The full schedule is available on our website.

WHO SHOT ROCK & ROLL: LIVE
Created in partnership with KCRW (89.9FM and KCRW.com) a free, live summer music series accompanies Who Shot Rock & Roll. Outdoors adjacent to the Photography Space, the concerts feature KCRW DJ sets, Moby (7/14), Portugal.The Man (7/21), Raphael Saadiq and Band of Skulls (8/4). Advance RSVP at KCRW.com is required. Registered guests must collect wristbands upon arrival at check-in to gain access to concerts.
