2012 Salute to Achievement Celebrates Harbor's 75th Anniversary
Citi CEO Vikram Pandit honored, international star Josh Groban announced as music headliner
NEW YORK, May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Boys & Girls Harbor is proud to celebrate 75 years of educating children and supporting Harlem at its annual Salute to Achievement on June 7, 2012. The premier event of CAMPAIGNELEVATE,Salute 2012 will showcase the Harbor's mission to empower children and their families to become full, productive participants in society through education, cultural enrichment, and social services.
The 2012 event, which features a night of performances in El Teatro and receptions overlooking Central Park, will honor Citi CEO Vikram Pandit for Citi's commitment to supporting programs that educate and inspire young people in New York City. Internationally renowned singer and songwriter Josh Groban has been confirmed as the music headliner by Harbor Board Member and Warner Music Group Executive Lyor Cohen.
This year's program also features an original mini musical, As We Go..., which was conceived by the talented faculty at the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Inspired by the words of a Harbor student, the title heralds the transformation that takes place among students as they discover their talents, take ownership of their dreams, and broaden their perspectives about the future.

Since the Harbor was founded in 1937, its goal has been to discover the inherent gifts of young people and nurture them; this is accomplished through best in class education, performing arts, and experiences that increase students' exposure to life's possibilities. During this milestone 75th Anniversary Year, the Harbor has set its sights high ? to raise $2 million through the 2012 Salute to Achievement, the primary fundraiser of CampaignElevate, a $3 million year-long anniversary campaign.
There is limited individual seating at $1,000 per ticket; group packages are available, beginning at $5,000 and include a pre-performance reception, performance, and post party in the courtyard of the Heckscher building.
