Fifty Talk Radio Hosts, Members of Congress, and Law Enforcement Gather for Live Capitol Hill Immigration Broadcast May 8 and 9
WASHINGTON, May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Fifty talk radio hosts from around the nation will broadcast their programs from the Phoenix Park Hotel on Capitol Hill on May 8 and 9, discussing immigration policy with members of Congress, state legislators, law enforcement officials, and other policy experts. Hold Their Feet to the Fire 2012 is organized by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the nation's oldest and largest immigration reform organization. The event is designed to provide listeners in all 50 states the opportunity to participate in an important national policy debate about immigration in advance of this year's elections.
Hold Their Feet to the Fire has been held annually since 2006. Hold Their Feet to the Fire 2012 will focus on efforts by the Obama administration to carry out an unlegislated backdoor amnesty for millions of illegal aliens under the guise of "prosecutorial discretion," and Congress's failure to respond to the usurpation of its authority to make immigration policy.
Talk radio hosts will also examine the likelihood of new state measures intended to discourage illegal aliens from settling or remaining in those jurisdictions. The U.S. Supreme Court is widely expected to uphold key provisions of Arizona's immigration enforcement law, S.B. 1070, which would provide clear guidelines for other states.
Credentialed media are invited and encouraged to attend Hold Their Feet to the Fire 2012. Radio hosts, expert guests, and spokespeople for FAIR will be available for interviews to discuss all aspects of U.S. immigration policy.
WHEN: May 8 and 9 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Phoenix Park Hotel 520 North Capitol St. NW (corner of Massachusetts Ave.)
WHO: 50 talk radio hosts, dozens of members of Congress, state legislators, law enforcement, activists and other policy experts.
