Pluto, a Creative Content Studio, Opens Second Location in Detroit

DETROIT, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Pluto, a creative content studio based in Birmingham, MI, has expanded their business with the opening of a second studio located in downtown Detroit. The new studio is scheduled to open in May 2012.

Pluto's new 5,000 Sq. Ft. Detroit studio is located on the third floor of the Display Group Building at 1700 W. Fort Street. The building is one of the classic 1920's era warehouses characteristic of Corktown and is located on the corner of Fort Street and Rosa Parks Blvd. The industrial space was transformed into a contemporary studio with an open floor plan which features Editing, Audio, CGI and Design Suites overlooking the Detroit River with remarkable views of Canada and the Ambassador Bridge.

The new studio will also be used extensively by Spotwelders, a creative editorial house based in both LA and New York. Spotwelders' credits include award winning commercials, music videos, and feature films. Spotwelders partnered with Pluto in 2011 and they have recently collaborated on numerous projects in Detroit.

"The decision to open a second location and go downtown was because we see the opportunity and recognize the creative movement that is emerging in Detroit," says Dave Corbett, Pluto partner and Creative Director. "Our goal is and always has been to keep creative work within the Detroit community."

Pluto will be celebrating the official grand opening of their new Detroit studio on the night of May 10th. They will be kicking off the expansion with a black and white themed private event with guests from the advertising and creative community, and featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr.

Pluto integrates content with an array of mediums including broadcast, web, mobile, and experiential for a wide array of clients. All of these capabilities are available in both their Detroit and Birmingham locations. Pluto is a collection of artists including motion designers, web designers, editors, CG artists, sound designers, and web developers. Their creative specialities include Creative Editorial, Motion Design, Animation, Visual Effects, Sound Design, Interactive Design and Development, and Experiential Applications.
