BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The highly-anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' young adult best-seller The Hunger Games will open at Cobb Theatres' Dolphin 19 in Miami FL, Merritt Square 16 in Merritt Island FL, Lakeside 18 in Lakeland, FL, and Hollywood 16 in Tuscaloosa, AL on March 23rd. The film will have a one-week engagement.

Hunger Games stars Academy-Award® nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. The film is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik.

About The Hunger Games
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games.
