INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- While two NFL teams battle it out for the coveted Lombardi trophy during Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, local aspiring male and female vocalists will have a chance to compete for their own shot at fame during the Soul Search(TM) singing competition. Presented by Jam Sports Productions, in conjunction with Billboard Magazine, the 6th annual Soul Search challenges amateur talent to see if they really have the heart, rhythm and "soul" it takes to be a phenomenal singing sensation. The competition is free to enter and will take place beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Butler University located at 4600 Sunset Avenue, Building 107 Indianapolis, IN 46208. Pre-registration is required to guarantee an audition.
Exclusive to Indiana state residents ages 5 to 50, Soul Search will showcase the best and brightest unsigned amateur vocal talent who will perform before a celebrity panel of judges including Indianapolis Colts Safety Antoine Bethea, WNBA MVP Tamika Catchings, radio personality Tony Lamont, and Jam Sports CEO Juli Jordan. Contestants will be judged on their vocal ability, charisma and stage presence. One grand-prize winner will be named the "Soul Survivor" and receive a prize package worth more than $1,500, which includes a cash prize of five hundred dollars ($500) and other merchandise and prizes.
The Soul Survivor will also become "Celebrity for A Day," walking the green carpet and signing autographs before performing the National Anthem before a star-studded crowd during the Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XIV on Saturday, February 4, 2012. Gridiron Celebrity Hoops is the first and only celebrity charity basketball game to become officially sanctioned by the National Football League. Six-time Pro Bowl NFL player Terrell "T.O."
