Hot Horn Band to Turn Winter into Summer
Hot Horn Band to Turn Winter into Summer
It's "August" in January
OAKBROOK Ill., Jan. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- That gritty musical sound that's unique to Chicago is hotter than ever with the appearance of "August" at the Montrose Room of the Intercontinental Chicago O'Hare Hotel, January 21st. The concert follows a January 20th performance by the band on WGN TV.
With powerful lead vocals from Ron Porter, August recreates the sound Windy City bands such as the Buckinghams, Ides of March and Chicago have made famous. August spokesman Steve Poltun, says the band, which consists of a seven-member horn section and two keyboardists produces "pure rhythm and soul." He said the band will be performing their full repertoire Saturday night, including material from their CD, Second Time Around, which the band recorded at the studios of Jim Peterik, lead singer of the Ides of March.
Plan now to see August at the Montrose Room, Saturday, January 21st at 8 pm. It'll be a hot summer night in the middle of winter.
