King | West Pictures Confirms Writer will Attend Awards Ceremony

KATY, Texas, Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hollywood Screenplay Competition has announced that Kevin Douglas West, writer of Boxer's 21, an animated feature-length screenplay, has been selected as an official finalist in this year's competition.

This is the 3rd award for Boxer's 21 this year after receiving an Official Selection at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and a Platinum REMI at the WorldFest Houston Film Festival in April.

The screenplay was written by Kevin Douglas West, a producer and director at King | West Pictures. "To receive such an honor in Hollywood is something I will cherish and I look forward to being at the awards ceremony in November," said West when he received the announcement in Katy this week. King | West Pictures has confirmed that Kevin Douglas West will attend the awards ceremony in Burbank, California on Saturday, November 12, 2011. King | West Pictures is currently seeking an option on the screenplay. "This story belongs at Blue Star, Dreamworks, Disney, or Pixar. The one that takes an option on this has a great opportunity to make a lot of money," says Jarred King, Producer at King | West Pictures.
