The shoe charity partners with media marketing company with goal to sponsor 75,000 pairs of shoes
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Soles4Souls announced Monday that it is partnering with media marketing firm GSF Media to expand its current fundraising efforts to new markets with a radio telethon. The charity and GSF have selected two initial markets for the radio events, with the first campaign in Rochester, New York on WARM 101.3 from October 12th until October 26th and in Tulsa, Oklahoma on KXOJ 100.9 from October 17 until October 28th.
Soles4Souls and GSF have set a goal to support 75,000 pairs of shoes between the two markets. Soles4Souls Founder and CEO Wayne Elsey will be a primary voice behind both campaigns, telling radio listeners the story behind the launch of the charity and the importance of footwear to children and adults around the world.
"We are excited to be launching this radio campaign with GSF in new markets," said Elsey. "We have recognized radio as a significant avenue to share our mission in a detailed way with a captive audience. My hope is that it will resonate with listeners and engage a whole new tribe of Soles4Souls ambassadors," he added.
The shoe charity recently distributed its 16 millionth pair of shoes, but keeping up with the increasing demand for footwear is a constant concern, especially with the rising poverty levels and number of natural disasters. Soles4Souls is able to provide one pair of shoes for every dollar raised. The charity has plans to continue the radio campaigns in other large markets including San Diego, Atlanta and Dallas.
