The Paley Center for Media Convenes International Council (IC2011) Meeting in Los Angeles from September 14-16, 2011
NEW YORK, Aug. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --The Paley Center for Media's International Council (IC), a traveling, independent forum dedicated to providing common ground for the global media industries, will convene September 14, 15, and 16, in Los Angeles for its annual summit. This eighteenth meeting of the IC will take place at the Paley Center's Beverly Hills location, where top media, entertainment, and technology executives from around the world will explore opportunities for growth and collaboration across borders and industries.
Under the theme Beyond Disruption, IC2011 LA will focus on the emergence of new models and markets as technology transforms the media landscape, and will feature intimate conversations with an exceptional line-up of industry leaders, including Juan Luis Cebrian of Grupo Prisa; Peter Chernin of The Chernin Group/CA Media; Adriana Cisneros of Grupo Cisneros; Barry Diller of IAC; Tom Freston of Firefly3, LLC; Marissa Mayer of Google; Jon Miller of News Corp.; Saad Mohseni of Moby Group; Leslie Moonves of CBS Corporation; Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook; Anne Sweeney of The Walt Disney Co.; and Lauren Zalaznick of NBCUniversal, among others.
The location of this year's IC summit represents a natural meeting point for media leaders from outside the US to connect with Hollywood and Silicon Valley executives. And with the largest Spanish-language TV audience in the U.S., Los Angeles is an appropriate market in which to consider the growth of Hispanic media worldwide.
In addition to keynote conversations with established media leaders, IC2011 LA will also showcase digital media startups and spotlight rising entrepreneurs during sessions inspired by the Paley Center's Next Big Thing series and its new Generator member community.
"Since 1995, long before 'disruption' became the buzzword it is today, the Paley Center's International Council has convened annually to explore the ways in which technology is changing the media industry," said Pat Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of The Paley Center for Media. "The leaders and innovators we've invited to this year's summit understand that dramatic, industry-wide transformation is the new normal. IC2011 LA is where they will find the common ground to identify the opportunities amid the disruption and chart the way forward together."
Confirmed delegates to IC 2011 LA include Aryeh Bourkoff (UBS), Joe Calabrese (O'Melveny & Myers), Scott Moore (Rogers Communications), Alberto Pecegueiro (GloboSat), Kuben Pillay (Primedia LTD), Geoffrey Sands (McKinsey); Yossi Vardi (International Technologies), Blair Westlake (Microsoft), Susan Whiting (The Nielsen Co.), Mehmet Ali Yalcindag (Dogan Media), and among others.
