LOS ANGELES, June 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lovers of the Robert Cummings' Lacrymosa, composed for the victims of 9/11 and recently premiered by the New Haven Symphony, are in for a special treat this Sunday, June 5, when The Song of Angels Flute Orchestra will debut his stunning new work, Aura. The Song of Angels Flute Orchestra, founded by Frederick Staff, is gaining renown as one of the most exciting and gifted assemblages of flutists to ever emerge from the LA area. Its distinctive sound derives from its full use of the lowest members of the flute family - the contrabass, sub/f-bass and double contrabass flutes. Cummings has composed his delightful new work Aura exclusively for this group. Also included in 'The Sounds of Summer' concert will be new arrangements of selected pieces by Dvorak, Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, Saint-Saens and Mendelssohn.
