Mobile application makes it easy for shoppers to check-in at Walmart, engage with K-C products at the shelf and receive Cars 2 merchandise
DALLAS, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for this weekend's release of Disney Pixar's Cars 2 movie, Kimberly-Clark announced today that it will use CheckPoints LLC's mobile shopping app to help drive shoppers into Walmart stores and engage them with its brands as part of an integrated commercial program linked to the upcoming release of Disney Pixar's Cars 2.
The mobile app makes it easy for Walmart shoppers to learn about the promotion featured on specially marked K-C products and claim Cars 2 points good toward merchandise rewards selected from the promotion's Cars 2 catalog. Here's how the Kimberly-Clark/CheckPoints partnership works:
-- When a shopper enters a Walmart location and "checks in" via
CheckPoints' app, they are directed to find Kimberly-Clark products
carrying Cars 2 promotional stickers, which include Kleenex facial
tissue, Pull-Ups training pants, Viva paper towels, Scott paper towels,
Cottonelle bath tissue and Huggies diapers and wipes.
-- After scanning the package barcode with their smartphones, shoppers
immediately learn of available Cars 2 premium rewards.
-- The more Kimberly-Clark products shoppers buy the more credits they can
redeem for premium Cars 2 items, such as die-cast Cars 2 vehicles or
Cars 2 movie tickets. The more products purchased, the higher the
rewards.
