Ventriloquist stars in comedy video to help Boot Campaign
NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Las Vegas headliner and "America's Got Talent" winner Terry Fator wants you to see his mouth moving when he talks about taking care of U.S. Servicemen and women returning from combat. Therefore, he has donned a pair of combat boots and is this week's featured celebrity at www.bootcampaign.com.

The boots are part of a national initiative called the Boot Campaign. The campaign's motto is, "When They Come Back, We Give Back." Proceeds from every pair of boots sold through the Boot Campaign go to charities that assist military members and their families cope with physical injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The Boot Campaign's goal is to see one million Americans sporting a pair of "Give Back" boots to represent the 1.4 million Americans serving in the armed forces.
"I wanted to get involved with the Boot Campaign because I don't believe enough is being done to take care of our military personnel once they get back home," Fator stated.
Fator rose to fame in 2007 when he won season two of NBC's hit show, "America's Got Talent." With the help of a few close friends, his dummies, Fator tickled America's funny bone with a marvelous mix of unparalleled ventriloquism, comedy, singing and celebrity impressions.
Fator is currently the headliner at The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. His show, Terry Fator: Ventriloquism in Concert, keeps Sin City in stitches with even more celebrity singing impersonations, a sizzling seven piece band and an ever-growing cast of puppet co-stars. The show now features nine puppets from old pals like Winston the Impersonating Turtle, country singing (sort of) sensation Walter T. Airedale and new flamboyant favorite, Berry Fabulous. Fator also is an in-demand guest on the late night TV circuit, having made many appearances on such shows as "Late Night with David Letterman" and "Lopez Tonight."
Recently, Fator - with puppets Walter and Winston - taped a special video to promote the Boot Campaign, which is viewable at www.bootcampaign.com.
President and COO of The Mirage Hotel & Casino Felix Rappaport also has answered the call to 'get YOUR boots on' and stands, with his boots on, in support of the men and women serving in the U.S. Military.
"Supporting our military personnel, both active and retired, is an important initiative to me personally, as well as to the team at The Mirage," said Rappaport. "We are proud to team with Terry Fator on the 'get YOUR boots on' campaign as we continue our involvement through exceptional programs and events that make a difference in the lives of soldiers nationwide."
As President and COO of The Mirage, Rappaport oversees all operations of the resort. Most recently, Rappaport served as President of Luxor and Excalibur, two iconic Las Vegas Strip resorts known worldwide for their exceptional hospitality standards. Prior to assuming responsibility for both resorts, he was President and COO of Luxor, where he led a multi-year enhancement project that brought exciting new restaurants and entertainment venues to the resort including the CRISS ANGEL Believe show, a Cirque du Soleil production; LAX Nightclub Las Vegas; CatHouse Restaurant and Loungerie; T&T (Tacos & Tequila) Mexican restaurant; TENDER Steakhouse & Seafood; as well as Aurora, Liquidity, and Flight, all one-of-a-kind lounge concepts. In 2008, Rappaport was named "Philanthropist of the Year" by the Las Vegas Natural History Museum.
Five Texas women, known as the Boot Girls, launched the Boot Campaign in 2009 after reading the book The Lone Survivor. The book chronicles the story of Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell who was the lone survivor of a mission to capture a Taliban leader in the mountains of Afghanistan. In 2010, Luttrell started The Lone Survivor Foundation, now one of the charities that benefits from the Boot Campaign. Three of the Boot Girls also appear in Fator's Boot Campaign video.
"I love what the Boot Campaign is all about," says Fator. "I wanted to get involved and get each and every one of my fans involved."
