Axsys Technologies Introduces Cineflex V14Media Camera System Offering High-Definition, Precision Imagery
Building on the Cineflex heritage of unmatched range performance and exceptional stability.
FAIRFAX, Va., April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Axsys Technologies, a division of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, has developed a new, lower-cost variation of its Cineflex V14 HD camera, making this high-end system more readily available to electronic news gathering and broadcast organizations.
The Cineflex family of systems has been used to film striking, defining images from events and productions such as the 2010 World Cup, the 2010 Winter Olympics, Discovery Channel's Planet Earth series and Paramount Pictures' Transformers movie. The Cineflex V14Media offers the same stability and precision of the V14 HD with a new, more affordable, high-definition capture device, the Ikegami HDL-F30.
"To capture the most prized images, filmmakers around the world trust the quality, accuracy and reliability of Cineflex cameras," said Bob McGill, vice president and general manager of Axsys Technologies. "We are broadening this family of systems to deliver an affordable, reliable camera system for high-definition, long-range imagery, especially suited for television and broadcast news."
The Cineflex V14Media is equipped with a 5-axis gyro-stabilized gimbal, ensuring stable imagery and precision pointing in the air, at sea and on rough terrain. The system is available with interchangeable long-range and wide angle lenses for enhanced cinematography applications.
