LOS ANGELES, March 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jackson Browne and Alice Cooper, in partnership with Danny Zelisko, have put together an all-star line-up of musicians for a benefit concert at the Tucson Convention Center, who have donated the building for the event. Set for Thursday,March 10 at 6PM, the concert is a fundraiser for the non-profit Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, benefiting the newly established, Tucson-based Fund for Civility, Respect, and Understanding.

Performers on the bill are Jackson Browne, Alice Cooper, David Crosby & Graham Nash, Sam Moore, Nils Lofgren, Jerry Riopelle, Keb' Mo', Jennifer Warnes, Dar Williams, Ozomatli, Calexico, Roger Clyne, Joel Rafael, and Quiltman.

The Fund for Civility, Respect, and Understanding was initially set up with contributions from the family of Ron Barber, Gabrielle Giffords' District Director, who was injured during the January 8th shootings in Tucson. The Fund's mission is to support individuals and families affected by the shootings, and to promote civility and respect in public discourse, schools, and the community. The Fund will work to increase public awareness of mental health symptoms, prevention, and treatment services as well.

Ron Barber is also one of the speakers at the March 10 event, with others including: Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President Lea Marquez Peterson, Giffords' intern Daniel Hernandez, Emma Nottingham (mother of Gabe Zimmerman, Giffords' staffer killed on January 8), and Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup--who introduced a nation-wide Civility Accord at the winter legislative meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, which has since been signed by almost 200 mayors.

The Fund for Civility, Respect, and Understanding--to be administered by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona--received a $50,000 donation on March 5 from Jim Click, a Tucson-area businessman and philanthropist. Click also challenged other Tucson-area businesses to do the same--and to purchase concert tickets for their employees.

Tickets are available through the Tucson Convention Center Ticket Office 260 S. Church Ave. (10AM-noon), online at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone (800)745-3000 and all Ticketmaster Outlets.
