InvisiTrack(TM) LS(TM) Utilizes Low-Frequency Radio Spectrum to Deliver Precise Indoor Location Positioning

InvisiTrack(TM) LS(TM) Utilizes Low-Frequency Radio Spectrum to Deliver Precise Indoor Location Positioning

InvisiTrack's patented Location System (LS) provides accurate and reliable indoor location positioning for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices supporting mobile advertising, social networking and location-based applications.

ORLANDO, Fla.,March 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CTIA Wireless 2011 -- InvisiTrack, Inc. today announced that its InvisiTrack Location System (LS), the world's first accurate and reliable indoor/outdoor location positioning and tracking solution, is available now for integration with devices that use LTE, TV-Band White Space and other low-frequency spectrums. InvisiTrack was selected by a panel of judges to showcase its solution at the Telecom Council New Innovation Showcase Pavilion at CTIA, located in booth 4290-HH.

InvisiTrack LS utilizes low-frequency bands to increase signal range by up to a factor of ten over legacy location methods. InvisiTrack LS also enables mobile location systems to operate in environments where high-frequency legacy location methods fail, and to provide accurate location fixes with resolutions of less than three meters indoors and one meter outdoors without need for fixed infrastructure. InvisiTrack LS complements GPS-based outdoor navigation by providing the critical link to bring accurate location positioning indoors and enhances the use of emerging presence-based technologies such as NFC and MEMS-based navigation.

InvisiTrack utilizes the superior propagation characteristics of low-frequency radio spectrums to improve both accuracy and reliability of location positioning, thus setting the new high-water mark in state-of-the-art location technology. InvisiTrack's methods are protected by seven US patents and patents pending in the EU, Japan, Korea and China.

InvisiTrack LS integrates seamlessly with LTE, White Space and mobile DTV chip sets without modification for use in LTE handsets, tablets, and other products. Devices configured with InvisiTrack LS enable users to navigate in GPS-challenged locations, such as inside shopping malls, industrial complexes and construction sites. InvisiTrack LS also enables advertisers to deliver precisely targeted location-based advertisements, finally making possible effective proximity-based advertising.

"At five years in the making, InvisiTrack LS delivers on the promise to bring accurate and reliable location positioning indoors," said Russ Markhovsky, Founder and CEO, InvisiTrack. "Now, with expanded support for low-frequency radio spectrums, we have vastly increased the range of products that can be configured with the InvisiTrack LS indoor positioning solution."

Recently, there has been a strong movement to utilize VHF and low UHF bands for new communication devices. LTE and White Space bands are the first widely available standards that allow the use of this part of the spectrum. At these lower frequencies, radio signals can penetrate walls and other obstacles that block high-frequency signals such as GPS, WiFi. The commercial use of White Space spectrums is now approved in the United States; other countries are planning to approve the use of equivalent spectrums through legislation. InvisiTrack's patented low-frequency location solution positions it to take advantage of this forthcoming proliferation of newly available low-frequency spectrums.

The InvisiTrack research and development team has taken a unique approach in developing the LS technology, basing it on three complementary innovations:

-- Narrow Bandwidth Ranging: InvisiTrack has techniques to obtain highly
precise RF ranging signal data at even lower frequency signals. This
allows InvisiTrack LS to provide accurate location at up to ten times
the range of other location methods
-- Multipath Error Correction: When attempting to navigate in metropolitan
areas with large buildings or inside complex structures that reflect
radio signals, multipath errors are the leading cause of inaccurate
location readings. InvisiTrack LS overcomes this problem by using a
unique signal design and advanced estimation methods to calculate the
precise distance between InvisiTrack LS-enabled devices even if
obstacles, such as walls, floors, buildings and other reflective
structures, separate them.
-- Virtual Triangulation: By simply moving an InvisiTrack LS-enabled
device, such as a smartphone, the user establishes virtual points in
space. InvisiTrack LS uses these points to triangulate the position of a
tracked target. This is ideal for device-to-device applications, where
location positioning can be achieved with only two LS-enabled devices.
