The Karabakh Foundation Presents 'Rhythms of Azerbaijan' - Reserve Tickets Now for This Free Concert

Featured Performers: The Natig Rhythm Group and The Rast Group

WASHINGTON, March 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Karabakh Foundation invites the community to an exhilarating night of Azerbaijani music on March 24, at 7:00 p.m., at the historic Lincoln Theatre. Sponsored by Azercell, this free concert features the classic percussion sounds of The Natig Rhythm Group and the innovative fusion jazz of The Rast Group.

Reservations are required for this free concert and are available at http://azercell.eventbrite.com. The concert will appeal to families and to a wide range of musical tastes.

Rhythms of Azerbaijan will present two different views of Azerbaijan's rich musical heritage, past and present. The Natig Rhythm Group has excited audiences around the world with their lively and fast-paced combination of drums and traditional stringed instruments. The Rast Group's award-winning blend of classical Azerbaijani songs and contemporary jazz brings East and West together to create a new and stirring sound.

The Lincoln Theatre was once one of Washington's premier concert halls, hosting all the jazz greats of the 20th century, including Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, and many others. Now beautifully renovated to its original glory and again hosting top performers and musicians, the Lincoln Theatre is a jewel of the U Street Corridor's vibrant music scene.
