Wyclef Jean to Perform at Haiti Art Expo Hosted by Michael Capponi & Jeff Feldman
MIAMI, Dec. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday December 5, 2010 Haiti Art Expo will hold their closing event in the Miami Design District and will welcome a special performance by Wyclef Jean to help raise money for housing in Haiti.
"I am excited about performing and speaking at Haiti Art Expo 2010. The collection of artwork from my country that Michelle Frisch has put together is phenomenal. This helps keep Haiti in the spotlight during one of the most important art festivals in the world. The spirit of Haitian culture is so alive here.
Miami is like another home for me, in no small part because of the number of my countrymen who call this city home. And while I am pleased to be here, my heart is clearly back in Haiti. Our country is in the midst of what I believe is the most important presidential election in the history of our nation. The individual who emerges as the winner will have the daunting task of leading Haiti's recovery, and we all pray leading us into a more prosperous era. While the process has had great challenges, I am confident that Haiti's new president will soon be declared, the product of a free and fair election. This individual, whoever it is, will certainly have my full support. So thank you for being with me today, and allowing me this opportunity to do what I do best."
Haiti Art Expo 2010, by Michele Frisch, Haiti's leading art curator and collector, presented and produced by Michael Capponi and Jeff Feldman demonstrates the visionary power of Haitian visual art that has continued to command international attention. This stunning collection of fine arts is comprised of a variety of media, objects d'art and photography.
