Re: Filing of Case No. 352 249655 10 in Texas State Court in Tarrant County Today
DALLAS, Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Daystar Television Network today filed Case No. 352 249655 10 in Texas State Court in Tarrant County, which follows a petition filed in Dallas County, December 1, by attorney James Fisher for Jeanette Hawkins.
Even though Texas rules of procedure do not require a detailed statement of alleged facts in a petition, the original action contained numerous false and misleading allegations by Ms. Hawkins, which could have easily been supported with a general description of the facts sustaining her claim. Instead, her petition contained specific and outrageous allegations about Mr. Lamb and the television network he founded, which was immediately placed in the hands of the news media representatives before attorneys for Daystar were even notified. Contrary to statements by Mr. Fisher in numerous print and broadcast interviews since, he obviously made good on their threat to take this matter to the press.
However, approximately 48 hours later, Mr. Fisher today revised the petition to remove some of the more incendiary allegations, including the duration of an alleged relationship and the alleged purchase of the home of the third party. This demonstrates that, without knowing their veracity, they were willing to send out allegations of fact to the media, knowing that subsequent news reports would take those allegations to the public.
The Daystar Television Network lawsuit speaks for itself. The ministry and Mr. Lamb dispute the allegations in both of Ms. Hawkins' petitions and will vigorously defend themselves against these harmful mistruths, seeking all remedies available to them in the legal system.
