'EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION' Personality to Host Frontier Project's Green Tie Gala
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Frontier Project, an innovation of resourcefulness in Southern California, will hold its second Annual Green Tie Gala Saturday, October 16. This year's Gala will be hosted by fashion model and noted sustainable living advocate Didiayer Snyder - the "green voice" for ABC-TV's Emmy-winning EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION. The Australian native is a longtime volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, having served as its national ambassador, and has contributed her carpentry skills and knowledge of sustainable living to communities across the country.
Snyder is quick to profess her commitment to green living and love for earth's fragile environment. "As I educated myself more about the things we humans do to harm the planet, I knew I had to step up," she says.
Struck by Snyder's knowledge and background as a licensed home inspector as well as her comfort as a spokesperson, The Travel Channel named her host of its hit show AMAZING VACATION HOMES in 2005. The network also assigned her hosting duties for THE WORLD'S BEST BEACHES and OFF THE BEATEN PATH. Snyder joined EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION in 2007.
Each year, the Frontier Project's Green Tie Gala fundraiser honors the top leaders in the ever-growing sustainability field through the Environmental Steward Awards. Current sponsors of this year's Gala include INLAND EMPIRE magazine, INLAND VALLEY DAILY BULLETIN, KSPA-AM 1510, CV Strategies, and the U.S. Green Building Council Inland Empire Chapter. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Opened in November 2009 as an endeavor of the Cucamonga Valley Water District through its Frontier Project Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the environmental challenges of the region, the Frontier Project keeps consumers, commercial builders and green advocates on the cutting edge of sustainability in the key areas of landscape, architecture and interior design. It has earned a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification - the highest available - from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The Frontier Project is open to the public and available for event leasing. General information, Green Tie Gala tickets and sponsorship details are available at www.frontierproject.org or by calling 909.944.6025.
