Azteca America Participates in CHCI Conference 'Hispanics and the Transformation of Telecommunications, Technology, and the Media' as Part of Hispanic Heritage Month Activities

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Azteca America network and Fundacion Azteca America congratulate Rawdon Messenger, Executive Vice President of New Media, on his successful participation in the Technology summit hosted by Congressman Joe Baca and Congressman Silvestre Reyes as part of the Public Policy Conference held this week by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI). The panel was entitled "Hispanics and the Transformation of Telecommunications, Technology, and the Media."

Highlights of Mr. Messenger's participation included the challenges of closing the digital gap faced by many Hispanic communities as an opportunity to increase educational, entertainment and political awareness opportunities.

The Technology Summit was divided into two parts, with the first panel including presentations by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and NTIA Deputy Assistant Secretary Anna M. Gomez.

The second part included presentations by Telemundo CEO Don Browne, Univision Communications President of News Alina Falcon, Pew Hispanic Center Associate Director Mark Hugo Lopez, Communications Workers of America Economist Kenneth R. Peres and National Hispanic Leadership Agenda Chair Lillian Rodriguez Lopez, as well as the presentation of Mr. Messenger.
