Chicago to Host Annual Convention in June

WASHINGTON,Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) announced today that The Cable Show 2011 will be held June 14-16, 2011, as part of "Cable Connection - Spring" in Chicago. The 60th annual convention and international exposition, the cable industry's premiere U.S. event, will be held at McCormick Place.

The Cable Show 2011 will be co-chaired by David Zaslav, President and Chief Executive Officer, Discovery Communications, and Jerry Kent, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Suddenlink Communications. The co-chair pairing continues with NCTA's tradition of matching a cable programming leader with a broadband service provider to help shape the convention's content and theme, and to help highlight the broad array of programming and technologies brought to American consumers by the cable broadband industry.

The NCTA convention returns to Chicago for the first time since 2003. A popular host city for The Cable Show in the past, Chicago offers easy access, state-of-the-art facilities, and great attractions. The 60th anniversary of The Cable Show will also offer delegates and exhibitors the opportunity to celebrate six decades serving American consumers with video programming and broadband services, while looking forward to the opportunities and technologies that lie ahead.

Prime exhibition space and sponsorship opportunities are now available. Visit www.thecableshow.com for further information, or contact NCTA Convention Headquarters at (202) 463-7905 or exhibitinfo@ncta.com. Online registration will open this December.

NCTA is the principal trade association for the US cable industry, representing cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation's cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks. The cable industry is the nation's largest broadband provider of high-speed Internet access, serving more than 40 million customers, after investing more than $160 billion to build a two-way interactive network with fiber optic technology. Cable companies also provide state-of-the-art digital telephone service to more than 22 million American consumers.
