Summer Sounds at Sunset, Musicians Wanted!

Bands compete for a $2,500 cash grand prize and Finale Concert

SAN ANTONIO, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Historic Sunset Station is recruiting unsigned musicians for its second annual Summer Sounds at Sunset, a weekly summer music series. Summer Sounds at Sunset will be held every Saturday night in June, July and August and will feature local and regional musicians. Artists will compete for a prize package including: $2,500 cash and a spot in the finale concert at the Sunset Station Lonestar Pavilion, complete with full Star treatment, their own green room and VIP catering service. Second and Third place winners will also receive a cash prize and will have a spot in the lineup at the finale concert on August 27, 2010.

Every Saturday night, beginning June 5th at 8PM, artists will compete on the Sunset Station Plaza Stage. Audience votes will help determine which bands will move forward in the competition. Admission is free! Weekly winners will be posted on the Sunset Station website, www.sunset-station.com/summersounds, every Monday following the show. All San Antonio and regional musicians are encouraged to apply including: Rock, Pop, Jazz, Folk, Texas Country, Acoustic, Latin, Reggae, Hip Hop or any other genre.

Hundreds of famous artists have performed at the Lonestar Pavilion including: All American Rejects, Toadies, Maroon 5, Simple Plan, Isaac Hayes, Breaking Benjamin, Blue October, Melissa Etheridge, Snoop Dogg, Def Tones, Nickleback, Hoobastank, Static X, Blues Traveler, Billy Idol, Flaming Lips, and many, many more. Historic Sunset Station is one of the largest historic special event facilities in San Antonio. Located in downtown San Antonio, just minutes from the Riverwalk and the Alamo, the restored 10-acre facility in the surrounding historic district of St. Paul Square, hosts functions of all sizes from 10 to thousands of guests.
