Critical Media Paves Way for Broadcasters, 53 TV Stations Switch to Syndicaster in Q1 to Create and Distribute Video Content
Entravision Communications Corporation, Hubbard Broadcasting Corporation, Journal Communications, Inc., News-Press & Gazette Broadcasting, Oregon Trail Broadcasting Company, Inc. and Scripps Television Station Group now using Syndicaster technology
LAS VEGAS, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- As the broadcast news industry evolves to integrate the online video ecosystem, Critical Media's Syndicaster service is quickly becoming the broadcast-to-online video technology resource for television stations. The Syndicaster platform allows users to capture, process, and remotely create - from any browser - video clips within moments of air-time or on location filming, to generate searchable video content. Already used by more than 100 stations, 53 more recently signed on to use the platform.
About 15 percent of U.S. news-producing TV stations, as well as stations accounting for more than 70 percent of the U.S. Hispanic television-viewing market today, use Syndicaster. Among the broadcasters to become Syndicaster clients are Entravision Communications Corporation, Hubbard Broadcasting Corporation Inc., Journal Communications, Inc., News-Press & Gazette Broadcasting, Oregon Trail Broadcasting Company, Inc. and Scripps Television Station Group.
"While some broadcasters were initially reluctant to do away with their legacy methods of clip creation, it's clear that the industry now recognizes the advantages of speed and efficiency that our technology provides to their businesses," said Ion Puspurica, EVP and GM of the Video Services Group for Critical Media. "Nearly half of all U.S. news-producing TV stations are Critical Media clients, using at least one of our platforms. Adoption of the technology continues to ramp up dramatically."
Station groups are leveraging the following Syndicaster features for a complete video ecosystem:
-- Quick video clip creation of over-the-air and OnLocation video content
-- Robust editing functionality in the Cloud
-- Collection of newsworthy footage by journalists and end users directly
from video-enabled mobile phones and Flip cameras; Moderation Platform
enables approval of user generated content before it is published
-- Immediate publishing, distribution and syndication engine to monetize
content
-- White-labeled players with ad-serving capabilities
Critical Media is participating at 2010 NAB Show and is exhibiting in booth SU9506LL in the Destination Broadband area.
