Benefit for American Diabetes Association in Honor of Local Music Fan
ASBURY PARK, N.J., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jersey Shore music scene lost one of its biggest supporters on February 7 when Robin Suhoskey passed away at the age of 44. In honor of her love of music, many of her favorite area musicians will take part in a benefit concert at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ on Sunday, April 18. Proceeds from the concert will go to the American Diabetes Association in her name.
Artists scheduled to perform include Jen Chapin, Bob Burger, Joe D'Urso, Keith Monacchio, Joe Harvard, Rob Tanico, Ken Shane, Maybe Pete, No Wine For Kittens, and Temporary Grace. The benefit, which starts at 3pm, is open to all ages with $10 admission at the door.
The benefit will be hosted by Gary Wien of ThePenguinRocks.com, a local online radio station. Wien hosts the weekly shows "Jersey Shore Hour" and "Twisted Covers" and is on the air every workday from 9am to 5pm. He recently broadcast a two-hour show in Robin's memory.
"Robin was a great music fan," said Wien. "Her passing is a huge loss to the local music community. She was taken far too young and many of us are still in shock, but this will be a great way to celebrate her life."
Suhoskey resided in Ocean Grove and was a member of the Belmar Elks and The Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation.
