Austin's Custom Tops Pledges Canned Food Donations To The Capital Area Food Bank
AUSTIN, Texas, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Austin's Custom Tops helped children and families in need by hosting the event "Spring Movie under the Stars" to benefit Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. On Saturday, March 27th, Austin locals gathered behind the Brentwood elementary school to watch the 1982 classic "E.T." The event was free but guests were urged to bring canned foods to donate in place of an admission fee.
Austin's Custom Tops, a local countertop company established in June 2008, has fast been becoming known for their philanthropic efforts in Austin. With such a huge success off their first movie night in December, they were excited to put together their 2nd movie night of the year for charity. They happily donated the funds to rent the movie screen, projector, popcorn machine, hot chocolate, and of course, Reese's Pieces.
On a crisp spring night, about 75 Austinites nestled with their families to enjoy this timeless classic. Additionally, in the spirit of giving, an Apple iPod was raffled off to attendees. Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB) received more than 100 gifts (canned food) from the "Spring Movie under the Stars" event. Like the theme of "E.T.", wherever you are from, you might need a hand or a lighted finger to get to a place where you can have a nice meal & might even call it home, and CAFB is making that happen.
