Comcast Launches Expanded Hispanic Programming In Lawrence

Comcast Launches Expanded Hispanic Programming In Lawrence

With 55 Channels and 300 On Demand Choices, Comcast Dramatically Boosts Spanish-Language Offering in Lawrence and Seven Merrimack Valley Communities

LAWRENCE, Mass., Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast today introduced an expanded offering of Hispanic programming in Lawrence and seven other Merrimack Valley communities, including Andover, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Methuen, North Andover and North Reading, delivering local consumers significantly more Spanish-language choices than ever before. The launch follows the recent completion of Comcast's digital network enhancement in those cities and towns, which also resulted in the availability of more than 100 High-Definition (HD) channels and super-fast Internet speeds of up to 50 Mbps to customers who live in the area.

With the availability of the expanded Hispanic tier, which nearly triples the company's previous local offering, Comcast now provides viewers with 55 of the most popular Spanish-language networks along with 300 choices of Hispanic On Demand programming to watch whenever they want. The new programming, including AYM Sports, Caracol TV, Telehit, Ritmoson Latino, Bandamax, De Pelicula and TV Venezuela, ranges from sports and news to movies and general entertainment.

Bundled with Basic Cable, which delivers approximately 20 channels of local broadcast, community access and Spanish-language programming such as Univision, Telefutura, Telemundo, Azteca America and Cuencavision, and a digital cable box, the tier is available for just $24.95 a month.

"Comcast is committed to providing the best diverse programming that connects our customers with their heritage and homeland," said Sue Wante, Area Vice President of Comcast. "With the recent completion of our digital network enhancement, we are thrilled to offer Spanish-speaking consumers in Lawrence and beyond the most diverse and robust lineup of Hispanic programming around. Paired with an explosion of new HD choices and super-fast Internet speeds, we are proud to offer the ultimate home entertainment experience to consumers in Andover, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, Methuen, North Andover and North Reading."
