NYC's Only Bilingual Magazine also celebrates its 8th Anniversary
NEW YORK, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Defining Trends Magazine, better known by its acronym DTM (www.dtmmag.com), celebrates its 8th anniversary this month, and in honor of this special occasion, publisher Juan Guillen and editor Javier Castano have chosen to put the legendary Polito Vega on their cover.
Vega, whose career on New York City radio has spanned nearly 50 years, is truly an innovator and a trendsetter: from his early days on WEVD-AM, to his current tenure on 93.1 Amor, Vega was the first to introduce Latinos and Latinas to such legendary artists as Johnny Pacheco, Willie Colon, Machito, Felipe Rodriguez, and Tito Puente.
To celebrate his long career in radio, the Spanish Broadcasting System (which owns 93.1 Amor, 97.9 La Mega and other Spanish radio stations) hosted a two-night extravaganza at the equally-legendary Madison Square Garden, with performers such as Enrique Iglesias, Paulina Rubio, Elvis Crespo, Don Omar, Fanny Lu and Tono Rosario, Oscar De Leon, Juanes, Victor Manuelle and many others, as they paid tribute to the King of Radio through music and song.
In addition to their feature story on Vega, DTM continues its eighth-year celebration with features on salsa crossover star Frankie Negron, lawyer Stephen N. Zack, designer Merlin Castell, and a retrospective on the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
