The games will be available on Channel 104 to all Comcast digital cable customers throughout Northern and Central California. The telecasts will begin on Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. with an exciting LIVE four game marathon from "The Battle at the Capital," featuring such Northern California powers as Pittsburg (#2 in the final 2008 MaxPreps North Coast Section Rankings), Granite Bay (#3 Sac-Joaquin Section), Cardinal Newman (#3 North Coast Section), Sacred Heart Cathedral (#5 Central Coast Section), and Central Catholic (#6 Sac-Joaquin Section).
"High school football continues to be a key programming element for Comcast Hometown Network as we provide local and regional programming that viewers can't get anywhere else," said Jeff Giles, Director of Comcast Hometown Network. "Our Comcast Hometown Sports programming schedule continues to grow with another terrific block of live sporting events - in this case, some of Northern California's best prep football teams."
The play-by-play announcer for Comcast Hometown Network's high school football games will be Dan Dibley of sports radio station KNBR 680 AM, while former San Jose SaberCats head coach Darren Arbet and University of Nevada football analyst Scott Gordon will split the color analyst duties. Tori Taylor, a former reporter for Current TV, will serve as sideline reporter. Dibley is a mainstay of CHN's prep coverage, having served as sideline reporter for the 2008 football season and the color commentator for the 2009 high school basketball season. All games will be produced by CHN sports director Erik Alves and directed by Gary Wasley. For more information, go to: http://www.comcasthometown.com/
The prep contests will premiere on Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. on Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104), and will be replayed several times. They will also be available any time of the day or night via Comcast's popular ON DEMAND platform, which is free to Comcast digital customers. To view Comcast Hometown Network games ON DEMAND, Comcast Digital Cable customers can tune to Channel 1 on their Digital Cable lineup or press the ON DEMAND button on their remote control, then click on the "Get Local" section, then click on "Local Sports."
